What is Our Racing Club?

Our Racing Club is a way for people to enjoy the company of others through the exciting medium of horse racing. Our Racing Club will expand on members usual experiences of racing by combining it with a long-established and successful breeding operation, which will be a core element of the club. The stud is located in Collon, County Louth, and has been run by Sean Maguire and his wife Marion since 1992. Club horses will race for its members who will be entitled be entered in monthly draw of all prize money won. Most horses running for the club will be home-bred.

As part of our development programme Our Racing will purchase yearling fillies with top class pedigrees. Our aim is to compete at the highest level on the racetrack and we hope that the fillies purchased would have the potential to be high class both as racehorses and as broodmares. If successful on the racetrack at the right level, these fillies will in time join the Our Racings breeding programme and in time their foals will race for Our Racing Club.

Goals of Our Racing Club

Central to the thinking behind Our Racing Club is that members should be given as many opportunities as possible to come together and share in each others successes and experiences generally. We hope that through our many organised events longstanding friendships will be formed and that members will take great pleasure and satisfaction from the experience of being a member of Our Racing Club. Our primary goals include:

• Through our stud and stable visits and by using film clips on our weekly news feature, we aim to provide members with a more holistic experience of both rearing horses and racing them. In doing so we will best capture the thrills involved in the incredible journey the horses will make as they progress from foaling to the racecourse and, hopefully, back to stud.
• To expand and upgrade Our Racings band of broodmares to the number and quality capable of competing at the highest level, thereby, creating a rich and abundant source of top class bloodstock to run for Our Racing Club's members.
• To see Our Racing Club's colours carried to victory at the highest level both on the flat and over jumps, thereby, providing our members with the widest experience of top class racing possible.
• To develop strong relationships within all aspects of the racing and breeding industry to our mutual benefit, such as: racecourses, trainers, farriers and vets.
• To develop a reputation for quality through our racing success, our breeding programme, our website and our hospitality events.
• To become a household name: through our reputation as a club of quality, by taking our camper van to race meetings and events nationwide and through our promotional offers (see Promotions section for details).
• To purchase fillies with pedigrees and the conformation that would suggest they should be capable of racing at the very top level for Our Racing Club and if successful join Our Racings band of broodmares as exciting additions to our breeding programme.
• The club will be funded by an annual subscription of €250 per member. Prudent management is critical to the success of Our Racing Club. It will provide value for money for members by keeping the cost of membership low and maximise Our Racings reinvestment in quality bloodstock.
